Rob’s recent resurgence in purpose had been waning throughout the afternoon, and even though he had noticed his regression in mood, perseverance was one of his self-described hallmarks. His wife had made an ultimatum that morning; mulch the flowerbeds or pay someone to do it. Like hell he would pay someone to do that. A quick run to the local home store, and he would be mulching in no time. Now, as he stood before the absurdly long, single checkout line in the Home Depot garden center, lurid fantasies began to leap into his mind. Typically, Rob would indulge in these cathartic thought experiments, but he would never act on them, letting them wash over him like warm, soapy water when presented with a daily frustration, but today was different. With twenty bags of red mulch precariously loaded onto his pushcart, a little well-guided momentum was the only force needed to start the process. No need to give anyone a heads up, no need to make a sound as he got a running start and let loose the earthen projectile. The scorching sun would be the only witness today. The cart went straight on his intended path, buzzing past bewildered bystanders who could only watch with baited breath. Standing at the back of the line, a young boy wearing a white shirt too small to cover his protruding belly screamed in excitement as his distracted mother spun around to behold the spectacle unfolding before her. Red mulch rained from the sky as if Gaia herself had been crucified above the garden center, covering people and plants alike in the crimson, wooden snow. The pushcart had rammed straight into the ten-foot tall pallet of black mulch, stacked so high, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would consider using red mulch.Several employees slowly walked over to the crime scene to assess the situation. The fluffy, young boy in the tiny, white t-shirt wept at his mother’s knees, as she desperately tried to console his state of shock. Mulch covered his hair, shoulders, and forehead staining dark red and black wherever it landed. Frantic and flabbergasted, the boy’s mother brushed the fallen mulch from her little man, hoping to calm his mind and stop his shrieking. Her fingers, callous to his cries, furiously wiped at his tears but only served to amplify the smearing, smudging, and staining that had claimed his fragile psyche.Doris, the veteran manager for the garden center, stood mouth agape in front of the carnage. Her employees, transfixed by the scene, slowly began gathering brooms and brushes to start the clean up process. The boy’s mother yelled at Doris, how could she have allowed such a dangerous tower of mulch to be placed so close to the checkout line. Doris had no reply, other than to usher them aside from the line to make amends.Rob had managed to remain completely unseen at the back of the line when he launched the mulch missile into the dark tower. Now, as the boy and his mother moved to speak with the manager, Rob advanced one place in line. Mission complete.By the time Rob had reached the front of the line, he had placed, paid for, and received mobile confirmation for twenty bags of black mulch, conveniently ready at the Lowe’s across the street. The Home Depot cashier looked down at the single item Rob placed in front of him. A 20 oz. Coke Zero, ice cold from the checkout line mini fridge. The elderly cashier, looking incredulous at his lone purchase, asked if Rob needed anything else, wondering why someone would stand in line for so long to only buy a Coke, especially in the garden center under the direct sunlight. Rob stared at him through his Woodies Zebrawood Sunglasses, the lenses so dark that none could see the joy in his eyes from his handiwork. With a quick flick of the hand, Rob removed the Woodies from his face, peered over the crowd that had formed next to the epicenter of mulch mayhem and then glanced back at the cashier.“What is black and white and red all over?” Rob asked with a smirk.“Uh, I don’t know, the newspaper?” The cashier responded curtly.Without hesitation, Rob placed his Woodies back over his eyes, “Nope, its that crying kid over there covered in mulch.”

I caught these on a lightening deal for $18.75. I had seen them before, but couldn’t justify $25 on sunglasses that I’ll probably lose or break. That being said, I’ve only owned cheap sunglasses, so I can’t give an accurate comparison to higher end sunglasses like Ray-Bans. I will say that I think they’re worth $25, here’s why. Firstly, they give you a soft case and a hard case, also including some random goodies like a guitar pick, sticker, cleaning cloth, temporary tattoos, a monopoly card, and a customer service card. These feel slightly larger and a bit heavier than the others I have in this style, but the arms sit snug behind my ears making them feel more secure than the others, and they stay just as well when I put them on my head. Time will tell how the wood arms will hold up, I’m assuming if you keep them dry they will last a while. I will update if anything breaks, but as of right now I think they’re perfect unisex glasses, better quality than cheap $12 ones, but not so expensive that you’re afraid to wear them.

These are just like ray bans but much more affordable. I bought these a week ago and because of the beautiful packaging I purchased 4 more for Christmas gifts. They are so affordable and perfect for that teen or friend that you want to get something for but can’t afford to spend more then $40. The quality is on point. I will not spend $200 on name brand.

    Sturdy and they look great!

These glasses are great — so much better than expected. The reviews were stellar, but that’s not always a clear indicator of a product like this that’s so subjective to a person’s style, taste, face shape, size of head, etc. These glasses, however, are awesome for me. I’m a sucker for a good deal, and I honestly expected these to be a bit subpar in quality as a trade off for the polarized lenses and additional goodies (semi-hard case, guitar pick, glass wipe), but I was pleasantly surprised. These are proof there’s no reason to pay a ton for designer sunglasses. I never have, and now I certainly never will.I have a fair complexion (read: I’m pale as all hell), so I find a lot of sunglasses to be way too dark/heavy for my features — the wooden temples are a great compromise that works well for me. They’d work well for anyone, but the lighter color works particularly well for people that may have lighter skin and hair. Plus, the lenses are nice a dark, which is great for me since I have really sensitive eyes and am prone to migraines. All in all, they are a great pair of well-priced sunglasses. Worth every penny and then some. I’ll probably grab another pair just to have on hand in case something happens to these.

Fantastic sunglasses. Took a chance on these after an exhaustive search on Amazon. Couldn’t be more delighted. They are super lightweight, look amazing on, and have crystal clear optics…. plus fantastic polarized UV protection. Comes with a fantastic zippered hard case. Also picked up several pairs of “Cheaters” (which are a spectacular look-alike replacement for Ray Bans — check those out too). Can’t believe I used to sink so much money into buying Ray Bans. Between these and Cheaters, and a cheap pair of Aviators, I’m set.5/5/2016 Update:Turns out the pair I received had a frozen flex hinge. This prevented one of the earpieces from flexing outward the way you’d expect. I contacted the company and they responded quickly and sent me a replacement pair. Nice, friendly company to work with.5/17/2016 Update: Now that I’ve been using these for a while, I’ve had a chance to break them in. Turns out the frozen flex hinge *finally* freed-up. Also, one lens popped out while I was cleaning them with one of those dust clothes. I was able to get it back in, but it struck me as some indicator of overall quality. Also, the hinges squeak a little when you unfold the earpieces to put them on. You just get that hint of a feeling of sub-par quality. But they’re still pretty unique and stylish, plus they come with exceptional customer support. So I’m leaving it at 5-stars.

I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to spend a whole lot on my sunnies, so when I started looking for sunglasses on Amazon I started by looking at the $10 or so ones. And while those cheap sunglasses may get the job done, you can feel the cheapness. They’re all plasticky, the lenses aren’t all that great, and they’re often stiff and prone to breaking easily. When I came across these puppies, I decided to take the risk of paying more because of the good reviews. And do these glasses deserve the good reviews! The first thing I noticed was just how light they are and how well they sit on my face. The hinges are flexible, which is great if you have a wide head like me. The lenses seem a step above the cheap-o polarized lenses you get in other value-priced sunglasses. They also come with a great case, not just one of those soft “case” bags. Overall, I am super pleased with the quality of the glasses for how much I paid. If you like Ray Bans, but don’t want to pay the premium price, check these shades out. You might be surprised with what you get.

My daughter in law loves these sunglasses. They look really good on her. I liked the fact that they come in a very well made and quality case. Inside the case were some Woodies stickers that made her happy. Also had a very nice cleaning cloth with great graphics on it. On the outside of the case was a rubber wrist band with Woodies on one side and the American flag on the other side, which she put on immediately, unfortunately it was a bit too big. I, myself wear Oakleys and I am saying honestly that these are every bit as good as Oakley quality. The wood shows the grain beautifully, making them very unique to other sunglasses. They are polarized, which so many are not, and she had never owned any. She loved how polarization made the colors pop in our world, she can see better driving when sun is hitting her in the face and when I told her to look into water on their outdoor excursions she couldn’t believe the clarity it gave the water. These are just exceptional sunglasses, of very good quality and has little perks, like a message engraved on the inside of one arm, the above mentioned extra items and being completely unique compared to other sunglasses at the remarkably low price. Honestly, they are more like 100.00 sunglasses. I very highly recommend these for male or female, as I bought my son a pair too. I hope this review convinces you to try Woodies out. Wish I had thought to take photos for this review. They look so sharp when wearing.

I’ve lost 3 pairs of Polarized RayBan wayfarers, which is why I can’t have nice things. These glasses are extremely well made. The fit and finish is amazing. I sat on them, bent one of the temples probably 15-20 degrees or so. Not only did the wood not snap, but I was able to bend them back. I’m still wearing them. The apparently unbreakable hinges are also those flexible kinds, so they’re really comfortable on my big head, unlike your typical budget glasses. The polarization is awesome. The clarity is awesome. The lenses are plastic vs glass, but I haven’t scratched them yet, and it’s amazing how light these feel on your face compared to traditional RayBans.Just ordered a second pair in a different wood.Buy them. You won’t regret it.

I keep getting emails…”How do you like your Woodies??”…asking for a review. I held back until I had a chance to wear them for awhile. I was attracted to the styling, especially the wooden bows (hence…Woodies). The lenses are a little darker than most, but I live where it’s sunny and I like them. But most of all…the price. I saw an old 60 Minutes piece on Luxottica, the company that owns Ray Ban, Oakley, and dozens of other high-priced brands of sunnies. They also own The Sunglass Hut. And they are the reason sunglasses are so expensive. So I decided I would never pay Those inflated prices ever again, and I went looking for reasonably priced glasses that are still of a decent quality. And I found another with these. They are solid and well made. I get tons of compliments on the style, and dropping jaws when I tell them what I paid. Best of all, when I was putting them on yesterday, I noticed some writing on one of the bows. It said, “See you at the beach”. Yeah…these are my new favorite sunglasses.
